WELCOME

Welcome to my website. Throughout the pages on this site, you will find information about my psychotherapy practice located in Santa Monica and El Segundo, CA, and will also be provided with information about my background and experience. I hope to update this site with relevant topics to help you improve your mental health and psychological well being, so please check back often.

My philosophy as a therapist, is to  "take a client where they are."  I have worked with clients who are coming to therapy for the first time, as well as people who have previously been in treatment for many years. Regardless of how experienced you are with therapy, I believe in starting wherever you are comfortable and taking things at a pace that feels manageable. When you come to me for help, I will involve you completely in the process. I believe that change does not come from me telling you what to do, but from us working together to help you establish and work on goals that will help you feel better and function better in the world. I feel strongly about helping individuals find resolution to a wide range of personal concerns and psychological issues.

Seeking help when you are in a difficult place takes a great deal of courage and can be very difficult. I strive to provide a safe, empathic, non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable opening up about and working on your problems. I believe that a good relationship between a client and therapist is essential to the success of the treatment. Together, we will evaluate if we are a good fit.

I view myself as only part of my client's treatment. I believe strongly in collaborating with other professionals  in order to create an appropriate treatment plan that is specifically tailored to meet each of my client's individual needs. In terms of my treatment approaches, I draw from a variety of methodologies and techniques to incorporate what is most helpful for each individual. Included in these therapeutic methodologies are: psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, family systems, and supportive therapy.

I work with individuals, couples, families and groups. I believe strongly in the group process as I believe that bringing together people in similar circumstances can often provide a powerful experience that in some circumstances can provide greater resolution to issues than individual therapy. I am in the process of forming a group for adolescents that focuses on concerns related to entering college. I am also forming a group for women experiencing high risk pregnancies.
